BIRTHDAY!!

So much to update so little time! Sadly my birthday came and went! I love birthdays so much (especially mine) This year mine happened to fall on a Sunday so that was kind of a bummer but it's ok I was able to celebrate on Saturday with my man! Me, Tom, Keelee and Bryce went up to Park City. I just love the feeling up there, there is something about that city that makes you feel good! We went to dinner and we were going to go ice skating but it was snowing so we decided against it. Instead we picked up a caramel apple, DELICIOUS! and then we hit up the outlets. I am recently broke so I just did a little window shopping but that is still fun! On Sunday my great mother made me Spaghetti and meatballs (my most favorite) and then my whole family came over for cake and ice cream. After that it went a little down hill. I was a nanny over the summer for a little girl named Tayla. Poor Tayla has a rough life, her parents are divorced and they are just a mess. So she had called me asking if she could have a sleepover on Valentine's day. Yes I know it's crazy this is just how her family is though. and I am a sucker so I said yes. So Tom went up to Bear Lake Sunday night as we had planned but I didn't go so I could watch Tayla in the end I'm glad I could help her out so it all worked out how it was suppose to! The next day we went and played in the snow at Tom's Aunt's farm and it was way fun so over all I would say it was a successful birthday!

Blessings!

This past week I have had so many little blessings that I feel I should write them down just so I can never forget and come back to the memories when I need it! For one of my Family Seminar classes we need to have 20 hours of volunteer hours. Erika works at Legacy Health Care as the volunteer coordinator! This summer when I was unemployed I went with her to a couple of activities. Little did I know this would help me now! So I gave her a call and she was so nice to hook me up! She put me with a older man at an assisted living facility. He is the sweetest man ever! I have only visited him twice now but I can tell this man is going to change my life! He has alzheimers so I probably have heard all the stories I am going to hear. . . twice. But the way he lights up when he tells them is great! He even lights up when I ask if I can visit with him! (even though he has no idea who I am) I visited him last Saturday. When I arrived they were playing BINGO. So I sat at a table with Ray and another man. Ray was pretty good at the game he understood the concept I would just have to remind him to put the chips over the number. The other man at the table was a different story however! He just did not understand where the numbers were coming from, and how I knew to put the chip on his paper. See he thought that the chips had the number on them, and he just could not find the number! Poor man! I was just trying not to laugh the whole time! Even when he got a BINGO he just didn't understand because all the chips were in a row but they were not the same color! I wish the picture was how our BINGO game went but it defiantly was not! By the end he just kept saying how amazing I was at this game! I just explained to him that I have practiced this game a lot and it was a very hard game so he shouldn't feel to bad! I couldn't stop smiling all day it was just what I needed! That afternoon I also attended by second cousins baptism. His Grandpa was able to baptize and confirm him. It was really nice to feel the spirit that was there and to be with my family to support him in his decision. I hope he continues to choose wisely and stay close to the gospel. Overall this weekend was a good one and something I needed!

Scuba, Bowling, Chastity Belt!

Apparently the only thing that I am going to be writing about is my weekends! Friday we started our scuba class! I will admit I wasn't that excited at first because for the next 5 Fridays Scuba West is where I will be Friday nights from 6 to 10. However, it was really fun! We were in the class for two hours but then we were in the pool for the other two! It was way fun! We practiced some different skills, but then got to just swim around and play! When we got done with class some people had rented out the Sportsplex and were going to play soccer. Now soccer is not my sport, and I had a test Saturday so I stayed home to study! Well let's just say I fell asleep on the floor (which I never do) and on my stomach (which I never do)!!! But man it was so comfortable!
Saturday I took my astrology tests (bombed it). Then me Kiah, and Tom went bowling in Salt Lake. We met up with Jeff and Missy. They had tom's nieces and some of his cousins! It was a little out of control but it was pretty fun! No worries I broke one hundred both times and that is GREAT for me! After bowling we came back to my house made some oreo-banana shakes and hit up the tub it felt good!
Sunday we had a very interesting talk in church. The past two weeks we have been talking about sin and repentance, little did I know what it was leading up to! Sunday was ward conference. So we had sacrament then all the relief society met together in the chapel. They explained that in sacrament they had been leading up to today in wanting to talk about the law of chastity and talking to the bishop. They talked about where the line is and crossing over the line. After I got over the awkwardness of it all, it really was a great lesson. It made you very great full for the gospel and the tender mercies of the Lord. I am so happy that this gospel is so forgiving and no matter how great the mistake you can always be forgiven and come back to the straight and narrow! I guess our bishopric really know what they are doing after all! ;) Back to school tomorrow hopefully this will be the week that I get back into the school-mode!

Weekend Review!

This weekend was pretty fun! We were all about the social dinners! On Friday night there was a little confusion because we thought we were starting our scuba class, so I had canceled plans with Natalie and Colby that we made earlier in the week. But come to find out we are not starting the class until next week so last minute I called up Nat and the plans were back on! We went to Pizza Factory for dinner! Love that place! The one in Ogden is not as good as the original St. George one but that is ok. When we sat down Natalie presented a coupon they had for one large one topping pizza, four drinks, and four breadsticks for $18.99. A pretty sweet deal so we were excited! We showed our waiter, Calvin, the coupon and said we wanted to upgrade the one topping pizza to a BBQ chicken (classic)! Also Natalie specifically asked him not for the deep dish just a regular pizza, not that hard of a request right? Wrong. Poor Calvin was just a mess! He brought out our drinks and twenty minutes later still no bread sticks. So he brings out the pizza. And what is it? A deep dish!! He apologizes and says he will bring out another one! Colby then asks him about our bread sticks, little did we know this was a breaking point for our waiter! He kind of got angry, pointed to the bread sticks and explained they were right there and they have been very busy so he hadn't had a chance to bring them, and walked away! Needless to say after that we were pretty nervous to ask him for anything else. After that little episode he improved slightly he brought our bread sticks, plates silverware, and the other pizza. It was pretty nice because we walked away with SOOO much food! After dinner we caught the last couple minutes of Weber's basketball game! They won so it was pretty sweet!

On Saturday, I got to pretend it was my birthday a little early!! My mom took me shopping to get some things for my birthday. Keelee and my Dad decided to tag along so we made it a fun outing for the day! We hit up Red Robin for lunch then went shopping. I am running a half marathon in March so I decided I wanted to get some running gear for my b-day so I felt the part! I got some cute things and it got me so excited for the race! I might run it slow but at least I will look good right!!! ha That night we did another social dinner with Tom's brother Jake and his wife Ashely. I love these two! Their friends Spencer and Chelsea came too they have theee cutest baby ever! So it was fun! After we played a little five crowns (Ashely won and I took second sorry boys!) Overall it was a fun weekend!! Thanks everyone for the fun social dinners!!

Here We Go!

So after months of blog stalking I have decided to try it myself! I am just going to try to start writing and see what comes out! I am going to use this as a journal, so I feel like nobody is going to be reading this but if someone does I hope you enjoy this!!
