This past week I have had so many little blessings that I feel I should write them down just so I can never forget and come back to the memories when I need it! For one of my Family Seminar classes we need to have 20 hours of volunteer hours. Erika works at Legacy Health Care as the volunteer coordinator! This summer when I was unemployed I went with her to a couple of activities. Little did I know this would help me now! So I gave her a call and she was so nice to hook me up! She put me with a older man at an assisted living facility. He is the sweetest man ever! I have only visited him twice now but I can tell this man is going to change my life! He has alzheimers so I probably have heard all the stories I am going to hear. . . twice. But the way he lights up when he tells them is great! He even lights up when I ask if I can visit with him! (even though he has no idea who I am) I visited him last Saturday. When I arrived they were playing BINGO. So I sat at a table with Ray and another man. Ray was pretty good at the game he understood the concept I would just have to remind him to put the chips over the number. The other man at the table was a different story however! He just did not understand where the numbers were coming from, and how I knew to put the chip on his paper. See he thought that the chips had the number on them, and he just could not find the number! Poor man! I was just trying not to laugh the whole time! Even when he got a BINGO he just didn't understand because all the chips were in a row but they were not the same color! I wish the picture was how our BINGO game went but it defiantly was not! By the end he just kept saying how amazing I was at this game! I just explained to him that I have practiced this game a lot and it was a very hard game so he shouldn't feel to bad! I couldn't stop smiling all day it was just what I needed! That afternoon I also attended by second cousins baptism. His Grandpa was able to baptize and confirm him. It was really nice to feel the spirit that was there and to be with my family to support him in his decision. I hope he continues to choose wisely and stay close to the gospel. Overall this weekend was a good one and something I needed!
